PRODUCT OVERVIEW

The Klipsch Heresy II is a classic compact loudspeaker from Klipsch’s legendary Heritage family, bringing the company’s high-efficiency horn-loaded design philosophy into a comparatively manageable cabinet.

Introduced in 1985 as an evolution of the original Heresy, the Heresy II combines a 12-inch direct-radiating woofer with dedicated horn-loaded midrange and high-frequency drivers. Its sealed cabinet provides controlled low-frequency reproduction, while the horn sections are designed for dynamic output and clear projection.

Unlike bass-reflex loudspeakers, the Heresy II uses a fully sealed enclosure. This design, together with the efficient horn-loaded upper-frequency drivers, makes the Heresy II a distinctive choice for listeners who appreciate the immediacy, detail, and dynamic character of classic Klipsch loudspeakers.

This pair features attractive oak-tone wood cabinets, black front baffles, and black fabric grille panels. The rear identification panels carry the Klipsch Heresy II model designation.

Our technicians refinished both speaker cabinets, resoldered the rear speaker terminal connections, reassembled the pair, and completed functional testing before preparing the speakers for sale.

HQAUDIOS RESTORATION & TESTING

Before Restoration

When this Klipsch Heresy II pair arrived at our workshop, our technicians examined the speaker systems and their exterior condition.

The woofer, horn-loaded midrange, and high-frequency sections of both speakers were operating during the initial inspection.

Cabinets showed scratches and age-related wear, while the black grille panels presented well overall.

Attention was also given to the rear speaker terminal connections during the service process.

During Restoration

Our technicians refinished the speaker cabinets and resoldered the speaker terminal connections.

Speaker Terminal Repair: The rear speaker terminal connections were resoldered to restore secure electrical connections.

Speaker Reassembly: The speakers were reassembled and prepared for post-service testing.

Driver Evaluation: The woofer, midrange, and tweeter sections were included in the speaker operation checks.

Cabinet & Grille Inspection: The wood cabinets, black front baffles, and grille assemblies were examined as part of the final presentation check.

After Restoration / Final Testing

Following service and reassembly, the speakers underwent a functional test and final QC evaluation.

Low-Frequency Operation: Both woofer sections were included in the completed speaker test.

Midrange & High-Frequency Operation: Both horn-loaded sections were evaluated as part of the complete three-way systems.

Speaker Connections: The serviced terminal connections were checked during the post-assembly test.

Final QC: The pair was reassembled and tested, with final QC completed successfully.

CONDITION

Technical Condition

12-Inch Woofer Sections: Our technicians checked the bass drivers during the initial inspection and included them in post-assembly testing. Both low-frequency sections were operational during the completed checks.

Horn-Loaded Midrange Sections: Both midrange sections were inspected and checked as part of the three-way systems. Their operation was confirmed during the speaker evaluation.

Horn-Loaded Tweeter Sections: The high-frequency sections were checked during inspection and final speaker testing. Both speakers completed the functional check after reassembly.

Speaker Terminals: Our technicians resoldered the terminal connections and checked speaker operation after reassembly.

Overall Speaker Operation: The pair was reassembled and completed post-service functional testing and QC.

Cosmetic Condition

Wood Cabinets: Both oak-tone wood cabinets have been refinished to improve their overall appearance. Some scratches, surface marks, and normal age-related cosmetic imperfections remain visible.

Front Baffles: Both speakers feature black front panels with a traditional three-driver Klipsch layout.

Woofer Cones: Both dark 12-inch woofer cones are visible in the actual product photographs.

Midrange & Tweeter Horns: The two horn-loaded sections are shown in detailed front photographs.

Grille Panels: Black fabric grille panels with Klipsch badges present neatly and retain their vintage appearance.

Rear Panels: Black rear panels feature Klipsch Heresy II identification plates and red/black speaker terminals.

Remaining Cosmetic Wear: Normal vintage scratches and surface marks remain. Please review all photographs for the exact condition of both cabinets and speaker components.
