Each cabinet uses a 15-inch JBL 2231A low-frequency driver,

and a JBL 2405 ultra-high-frequency slot radiator.

Professional Restoration & Testing
Before Restoration
Initial inspection identified age-related cabinet wear, grille deterioration, worn or damaged mounting hardware,
terminal damage, oxidized controls, and other signs of long-term use and storage.
The cabinets, installed drivers, crossover sections, front level controls, terminals, grilles, labels,
and mounting hardware were inspected to determine the work required for this specific pair.
During Restoration
- Walnut veneer cabinets cleaned and cosmetically restored
- Woofer surrounds replaced and cones re-centered
- Cones and dust caps carefully cleaned and cosmetically refreshed
- Grille assemblies restored / rebuilt with repaired frames, new blue cloth, and replacement mounting pegs
- Damaged rear terminal hardware upgraded to modern binding posts
- Rusted mounting screws and hardware replaced as required
- Front level controls cleaned and treated for smooth, quiet operation
- Reproduction JBL badges / rear labels installed where original pieces were damaged or missing
- Installed driver assemblies, accessible crossover areas, controls, terminals, and cabinet surfaces carefully cleaned and detailed
