PRODUCT OVERVIEW

The Klipsch Heresy I is a classic member of the Klipsch Heritage loudspeaker family, featuring a compact three-way design with a direct-radiating 12-inch woofer and horn-loaded midrange and tweeter sections.

Unlike ported designs, the Heresy uses a sealed enclosure. Its horn-loaded upper-frequency sections and efficient design reflect the recognizable character of early Klipsch loudspeakers, making the Heresy well suited to listeners who appreciate a direct, dynamic presentation.

This pair features brown wood-grain cabinets, black front baffles and black fabric grille panels. Its installed K-22-EF woofers, K-55-V midrange drivers, K-77 tweeters and Type E crossovers reflect the classic Heresy I configuration. We refreshed the woofer rim finish, re-secured the grille fabric, reassembled the pair and completed post-service testing.

HQAUDIOS RESTORATION & TESTING

Before Restoration

When this Klipsch Heresy I pair arrived at our workshop, we evaluated the woofer, horn midrange and horn tweeter sections. The low-, mid- and high-frequency sections were producing sound during the initial checks.

The cabinets showed scratches and age-related surface wear. The black grilles needed additional adhesive at the fabric edges, and the finish around the woofer rims required cosmetic attention.

During Restoration

We carried out targeted woofer-rim refinishing, grille adhesive work and reassembly while retaining the Heresy I driver and Type E crossover configuration.

Woofer Rim Refinishing: We refreshed the finish around the woofer rims and detailed the visible mounting edges.

Grille Adhesive Repair: We added adhesive where the black grille material had loosened and secured both grille panels.

Reassembly: We reassembled the pair and checked speaker operation following the woofer-rim and grille work.

After Restoration / Final Testing

After the work and reassembly, we completed functional speaker checks and confirmed normal operation of both speakers.

Driver Output: We checked audible output from the installed K-22-EF woofers, K-55-V midrange drivers and K-77 tweeters.

Final Result: The pair passed the post-assembly functional check.
