PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The Pioneer QX-949 is a 1974 four-channel quadraphonic AM/FM receiver from Pioneer’s classic silver-faceplate era, built to run either as a conventional stereo receiver or as a true four-channel system.
It supports CD-4, SQ and Regular Matrix quadraphonic formats and delivers 40 W x 4 in 4-channel mode, or 60 W x 2 when the 2-channel Power Boost circuit is engaged. The front panel adds the distinctive 4-channel level indicator, dual phono inputs, multiple tape connections and separate front/rear controls.
We restored this unit with careful attention to technical operation and cosmetic presentation, while preserving the original Pioneer design and character.
