Before Restoration
After decades of service, every vintage speaker requires careful inspection before any restoration work begins. For each pair of Tannoy DC 2000, HQaudios places particular attention on the condition of the Dual Concentric drivers, surrounds, crossover networks, input terminals, and cabinet structure.
These components play a critical role in tonal balance, dynamics, and the long-term reliability of the speakers, and are thoroughly assessed to determine the exact condition of each unit before restoration begins.
During Restoration
Based on the initial inspection, each pair is restored according to HQaudios’ technical standards with the goal of preserving the original engineering and sound character of the Tannoy DC 2000.
The Dual Concentric drivers are tested for full output and tonal balance; surrounds are inspected for integrity and longevity; the crossover network is checked for stable performance; and the input terminals are cleaned and verified. Components that no longer meet technical specifications are replaced.
