Basic Specifications

Construction & Finish

Each cabinet is built from high-grade plywood selected for rigidity, strength, and stable long-term indoor use. The internal structure is reinforced to provide a secure mounting platform for compatible drivers and to reduce unnecessary panel movement.

The exterior is finished in real oak veneer and protected by a semi-gloss PU coating. This treatment highlights the natural wood grain while providing additional surface protection during normal use.

Acoustic Design

The enclosure is based on the classic ALTEC 606 corner-oriented bass-reflex concept. The reinforced panels and controlled cabinet structure are intended to reduce unwanted enclosure vibration and provide a stable foundation for the selected speaker system.

Final bass response, efficiency, frequency balance, and overall sound quality depend on the installed driver, crossover network, internal volume, port tuning, damping, sealing, amplifier, and room placement. The empty cabinet alone does not establish the completed system’s impedance, sensitivity, power handling, or frequency response.

Compatibility

These cabinets can be configured for selected Altec Lansing drivers and related components. Compatibility must be confirmed from the actual component specifications rather than from the ALTEC 606 name alone.

HQaudios may consider selected vintage audio equipment for trade-in, including receivers, amplifiers, speakers, turntables, cassette decks, and reel-to-reel machines. Please provide clear photos, model information, and a brief condition description for review.

Shipping

These cabinets will be carefully packed with protective wrapping, reinforced corner protection, dense cushioning, and heavy-duty cartons to protect the veneer and cabinet structure during transit.

Because of their size and weight, freight shipping may be used depending on the destination. Shipping method, cost, and availability should be confirmed before purchase.

The warranty does not cover incorrect installation, improper cutting or drilling, incompatible components, unauthorized modification, moisture or water damage, excessive heat, prolonged direct sunlight, impact damage, improper transportation after delivery, normal wood-grain variation, or acoustic results caused by customer-selected components and system configuration.
