PRODUCT OVERVIEW

The Klipsch KLF-20 is a three-way floorstanding loudspeaker from the Legend Series, combining dual 10-inch woofers with horn-loaded midrange and high-frequency sections.

The KLF-20 is rated at 100 dB sensitivity with a 34 Hz – 20 kHz ±3 dB frequency response, 8-ohm nominal impedance, and 200 W continuous / 800 W peak power handling.

This exact pair is finished in Black Satin and carries serial numbers 045797125 and 045797126. HQaudios replaced the damaged grille(s), reassembled both speakers, and completed extended post-service testing.

HQAUDIOS RESTORATION & TESTING

Before Restoration

When we received this Klipsch KLF-20 pair, we inspected the dual woofer sections, midrange horns, high-frequency sections, cabinets, grilles, rear connection panels, and overall physical condition.

The pair had torn grille material and a damaged grille frame. The cabinets also showed scratches and age-related corner / edge wear.

During Restoration

Our technicians replaced the damaged grille(s) and reassembled the complete pair.

Driver Sections: We checked the low-frequency and horn sections.

Rear Connections: We inspected the rear connection panels before final testing.

Reassembly: We reassembled both speakers and prepared the pair for post-service operation testing.

After Restoration / Final Testing

We tested the complete pair for approximately 3 hours after service and reassembly.

Dual Woofer Sections: The low-frequency sections in both cabinets produced stable, full bass output throughout the extended test.

Midrange Horn Sections: Both midrange horn sections produced clear and consistent output through the midrange.

High-Frequency Sections: Both high-frequency horn sections produced consistent treble output across the pair.

Rear Connections: The binding-post panels and installed jumpers maintained reliable signal contact during testing.

Left / Right Operation: Output remained consistent between the left and right speakers during the full test period.

Post-Service Operation: The pair completed the extended test with stable operation after reassembly.

CONDITION

Technical Condition

Dual Woofer Sections: Both 10-inch woofer sections in each cabinet were inspected and tested after service and reassembly. Both speakers produce stable, full low-frequency output during the extended final test.

Midrange Horn Sections: The midrange horn sections in both cabinets were tested and produce clear, consistent output through the midrange.

High-Frequency Sections: Both high-frequency horn sections were checked during final playback. Treble output remains present and consistent across the pair.

Rear Connections: The dual binding-post connection panels and installed jumpers were inspected, with reliable signal contact confirmed during testing.

Left / Right Balance: Both speakers were compared during the final test. Output remains consistent between the left and right cabinets.

Final Playback Test: Approximately 3 hours of testing were completed after service and reassembly to confirm stable operation.

Cosmetic Condition

Cabinets / Finish: The Black Satin cabinets present cleanly overall. Age-related scratches and wear remain visible at some edges and corners.

Grilles: The damaged grille areas were replaced, and both grille assemblies are now installed and present neatly on the speakers.

Front Baffles / Drivers: The dual woofers and horn sections are cleanly presented, with the complete driver layout visible when the grilles are removed.

Rear Panels / Labels: Rear terminal panels are intact. Both identification labels remain readable, with normal age-related surface wear.

Edges / Corners: Some vintage edge and corner wear remains visible and is shown in the listing photos.

Overall Presentation: A clean, serviced KLF-20 pair that presents well for its age while retaining normal cosmetic signs of vintage use. Please review all photos carefully for the exact cosmetic condition.
