Professional Restoration & Testing

Before Restoration

When this pair arrived at HQaudios, we carefully inspected both speakers for mechanical, electrical, cosmetic, and overall operating condition. The cabinets, woofer cones, surrounds, tweeters, High Frequency Controls, speaker terminals, and visible connections were checked to determine the service and restoration work required.

During Restoration

Based on our inspection, the drivers, High Frequency Controls, speaker terminals, front baffles, rear panels, and grille assemblies were carefully cleaned and serviced as needed while preserving the character of the original Advent design.

The walnut cabinets received extensive cosmetic restoration and detailing to revive the natural wood grain and classic warm vintage appearance. The exterior surfaces were carefully cleaned and finished so the pair presents beautifully while retaining its authentic vintage character.

After Restoration

After service, both speakers were tested together in a stereo system to confirm proper woofer and tweeter operation, balanced left/right output, High Frequency Control function, and overall musical performance. The pair also underwent an extended real-world listening test before final approval by HQaudios.

The Original Large Advent is known for its full-bodied bass, natural midrange, smooth highs, and relaxed stereo presentation. Its warm and balanced sound works especially well with classic rock, jazz, vocals, acoustic recordings, vinyl, and traditional two-channel stereo systems.
