The exterior was professionally cleaned and detailed while preserving the authentic vintage character of the Pioneer HPM-100.
After Restoration
Once restoration was completed, this pair underwent comprehensive functional testing under real operating conditions.
Speakers
Individual driver operation, frequency response, crossover integration, phase consistency, consistency between both speakers, and the midrange and high-frequency level controls were tested.

Only after successfully meeting HQaudios’ restoration and testing standards was the Pioneer HPM-100 pair approved and prepared for its next owner.
Drivers, Crossovers & Acoustic System
Pioneer HPM-100 Driver Architecture
The HPM-100 uses a 12-inch cone woofer, a 4-inch cone midrange driver, a 1-3/4-inch cone tweeter, and a dedicated HPM high-polymer super tweeter in a 4-way configuration. This architecture allows the speaker to distribute the audio spectrum across dedicated driver sections while maintaining the large-scale presentation for which the HPM-100 is known.
The internal crossover network is an important part of maintaining proper integration between the four driver sections. These areas receive particular attention throughout HQaudios’ restoration and testing process. Additional close-up photos or videos are available upon request.
