A True Pioneer Monster Receiver
The SX-1280 comes from an era when audio manufacturers competed to build larger, more powerful and more sophisticated stereo receivers.
Pioneer engineered the SX-1280 with a substantial power supply, heavy-duty amplifier section, large heat sinks, extensive controls and an imposing chassis.
At approximately 63 pounds, the SX-1280 has a physical presence that matches its power output. Its combination of 185WPC output, classic analog meters, substantial construction and iconic Pioneer styling has made it one of the most recognizable high-power receivers of its generation.
For a serious vintage audio enthusiast, however, model reputation alone is not enough. The quality of restoration, cosmetic condition, testing, after-sale support and warranty all contribute to the value of the individual receiver.

Why This SX-1280 Stands Apart
Vintage SX-1280 receivers can vary significantly in condition and service history. Some remain largely untouched, while others have received only basic cleaning or limited repair.

We also carefully detailed the exterior, completed final operational testing, photographed the actual receiver, and recorded a demo video of the unit.
Combined with professional packing, after-sale support and our 1-Year Technical Warranty, this SX-1280 is prepared for the enthusiast who wants to both collect and enjoy one of Pioneer’s legendary monster receivers.
