PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The Marantz 2250 is a classic AM/FM stereo receiver produced from 1975 to 1977, known for its iconic styling, smooth analog sound and practical 50-watt-per-channel output.
This unit features a custom black faceplate refinished by HQaudios, contrasted by silver controls and the classic blue Marantz dial illumination, and comes with the wood case shown in the photos.
We restored this unit with careful attention to technical operation and cosmetic presentation, while preserving the original Marantz design and character.
HQAUDIOS RESTORATION & TESTING

Before Restoration
When we received this Marantz 2250, we performed a complete visual, electrical, and functional inspection before beginning the restoration process.
The inspection covered the power supply, amplifier stages, phono and preamplifier sections, controls, switches, meters and lamp illumination, and was used to determine the service needed for this specific unit.
Inspection Findings: On this unit, the inspection found a power supply fault, burned-out 8V dial lamps, unlit FM Stereo and Dolby FM indicators, and a faulty switch.

During Restoration
We restored this Marantz 2250 according to our HQaudios restoration standards while preserving the original Marantz electronics.
Amplifier & Power Supply: The power supply was repaired and its filter capacitors were replaced with new 470 µF/100 V, 220 µF/50 V and 100 µF/100 V capacitors. The amplifier circuitry was inspected and serviced.
Controls & Switches: The faulty switch was repaired, and the volume control, tone controls and push-button switches were cleaned.
Dial & Meter Illumination: The 8V dial lamps and the FM Stereo and Dolby FM indicator lamps were replaced, and the meter illumination was serviced.
Custom Faceplate: The faceplate was refinished in black by HQaudios.
Cleaning & Detailing: The chassis, controls and wood case were cleaned and detailed.

After Restoration / Final Testing
After the restoration was completed, the unit underwent final functional and listening tests.
Amplifier Output: Both channels were checked for proper, balanced output.
Tone & Balance Controls: Bass, mid, treble and balance controls were checked for smooth, noise-free adjustment.
Tuner Operation: AM/FM reception, Gyro-Touch tuning and the signal/tuning meters were checked.
Inputs & Outputs: Phono, aux and tape inputs and the main/remote speaker outputs were checked.
Listening Test: The receiver was evaluated using real music playback over an extended session.
Final QC: A complete visual and functional quality-control inspection was completed before release.
